Lead home service technician
Position Summary:
The Lead Home Service Technician is responsible for performing and overseeing residential maintenance, repair, and improvement services while ensuring high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service. This role leads job sites, mentors technicians, and ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform a wide range of residential repair, maintenance, and improvement services including carpentry, drywall repair, painting, minor plumbing, and basic electrical work.
Lead and supervise technicians on job sites to ensure work is completed correctly and on schedule.
Communicate with customers to assess service needs, explain repairs, and provide updates on project progress.
Ensure all work meets company quality standards, safety guidelines, and local building codes.
Train and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance on best practices and technical skills.
Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in safe and working condition.
Document completed work, materials used, and time spent on each project.
Assist with estimating repair costs and identifying additional service opportunities when appropriate.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all job sites.
Respond to service calls and troubleshoot problems efficiently.
Qualifications:
3–5 years of experience in handyman services, home maintenance, construction, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of residential repairs including carpentry, drywall, painting, minor plumbing, and electrical work.
Proven leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor for extended periods.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to work independently and lead a team.
Preferred Skills:
Experience managing multiple service jobs in a day.
Knowledge of residential building codes and safety standards.
Experience using work order or service management software.
Work Environment:
Work is primarily performed in residential homes.
May require climbing ladders, lifting materials, and working in various weather conditions.
Some travel between job sites required.
